  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups pumpkin puree (canned)
  • 4 tsp pumpkin spice
  • 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbs vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (mini)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F or 180°C. Grease and line with parchment, two 8x4 loaf pans, and set aside.
  2. Whisk in a large bowl, the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin spice.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the pumpkin puree, applesauce, both sugars eggs, and vanilla until combined,
  4. Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  5. Fold the chocolate chips into the batter, saving a little for topping.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the pans, sprinkle the chips on top, and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick to the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the baked loaves to cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
